Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 26, 2026
Orthovox is a free audiobook library of the early Church Fathers, operated as a personal project. We try to collect as little personal data as possible. This page explains what we do collect, why, and how to get rid of it.
What we collect
If you sign up as a free member, donate, or become a Patron:
- Your email address (so we can confirm signups, send transactional receipts, and notify you when new titles are released).
- Your name, if you choose to provide it (so Founding Patrons can be listed on the Founders page; otherwise optional).
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your credit card number.
If you just visit the site:
- We collect basic, anonymized analytics (page views, country, referring source) via Ghost's built-in privacy-respecting analytics. No third-party tracking pixels. No advertising cookies.
How we use it
- Email — to send transactional messages (signup confirmation, donation receipts, occasional updates when new titles are released). We do not sell, rent, or share your email with anyone.
- Name — only if you've donated as a Founding Patron and consented to be listed publicly. You can ask to be removed at any time by emailing support@orthovox.net.
- Payment info — Stripe handles all of this. See Stripe's privacy policy.
Third parties we use
- Ghost Pro — our website host and email infrastructure. Privacy policy.
- Stripe — our payment processor. Privacy policy.
- Improvmx — forwards email sent to support@orthovox.net to a personal mailbox. Privacy policy.
- Internet Archive — hosts our audio files. They may log standard server access info when files are streamed. Privacy policy.
- Google Fonts — typography is loaded from Google's font CDN. Privacy policy.
Cookies
Orthovox uses minimal cookies — primarily to keep you logged in if you've signed up as a member, and to remember your preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking.
Children
Orthovox is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we've inadvertently collected such information, please email us and we'll delete it.
Your rights
- Request a copy of any data we have on you.
- Request deletion of your account, your email, or your name from any public listing on the site.
- Unsubscribe from email at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send.
To exercise any of these, email support@orthovox.net.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if our practices change, and we'll note the date at the top.
